Indra (2002)

In Varanasi, Shankar Narayana is a gentle taxi driver who lives a quiet life, but the arrival of a spirited young woman and her family reveals that he is not who he seems. In flashback, he is Indrasena Reddy, the revered head of a faction in Rayalaseema who fought a long and bloody feud with a rival family and made a great sacrifice to bring peace, and water, to the drought-hit region. Now old enemies are stirring again. Indra was a landmark of the Telugu faction genre and one of the biggest hits of Chiranjeevi's career, becoming the highest-grossing Telugu film at the time. His dance in "Daayi Daayi Damma" became iconic, and he won the Nandi Award for Best Actor.
