Against the Wild: The Journey Home is a family adventure from director Richard Boddington, who also made the earlier Against the Wild about children stranded in the wilderness with their dog. This follow-up again centres on a young person who forms a bond with animals and has to rely on courage, resourcefulness and that bond to survive a long journey back to safety, while the adults, played by Natasha Henstridge and Steve Byers, try to reach her. It is a gentle, outdoor film built on landscapes, animal scenes and a simple story of loyalty and perseverance, aimed squarely at family audiences.
