Agni Pareeksha (1981)

Agni Pareeksha ("trial by fire") is a 1981 Hindi drama directed by Kamal Majumdar, starring Amol Palekar, the everyman hero of middle-class cinema, with Parikshit Sahni and Rameshwari. The title refers to the ordeal of fire from the Ramayana and points to a story about honour, suspicion and proving one's innocence. Few details of the plot are widely documented today, so it is mainly of interest to admirers of Amol Palekar's films of the period.
