Aitbaar (2004)

Dr. Ranveer Malhotra has already lost a son and is fiercely protective of his daughter Ria. When she falls for Aryan, a handsome, moody young artist, Ranveer is uneasy, and the more he learns about the boy's past, the more alarmed he becomes. Ria, however, sees only a father who cannot let go, and the struggle over her loyalty turns increasingly dangerous. Aitbaar ("trust") is a Hindi psychological thriller directed by Vikram Bhatt and inspired by the Hollywood film Fear (1996). Amitabh Bachchan plays the anxious father, with John Abraham and Bipasha Basu, then a popular real-life couple, as the young lovers. Rajesh Roshan composed the music. It is a tense family thriller that keeps much of its menace within the home.
