Aiyaa (2005)

Sarathkumar plays a man of principle from a family the whole village looks up to, whose sense of justice brings him into conflict with a ruthless local strongman played by Prakash Raj. Their rivalry, fought over land, honour and influence, escalates into open war, while a romance with a spirited young woman, played by Nayanthara, adds songs and lighter moments. Aiyaa is a typical, fast-paced rural action drama from director Hari, known for the speed and noise of his films. It is notable as Nayanthara's first Tamil film; she had started in Malayalam cinema and went on to become one of the biggest stars in the South.
