Albert Pinto disappears one day, leaving his girlfriend Stella and his family frantic. We learn that his father, an honest clerk, took his own life after being falsely accused of corruption, and that Albert's grief has turned into a burning rage at a system he blames. On the road he falls in with Nayyar, a world-weary hitman, and the journey towards Goa becomes a reckoning with his anger. The film takes its title from Saeed Mirza's celebrated 1980 parallel-cinema film with Naseeruddin Shah, but tells its own story about the frustrations of the urban middle class. Manav Kaul and Saurabh Shukla share most of the screen time, and Nandita Das plays Stella.
