In their final year at a Delhi school, four students face the pressure every Indian teenager knows: board exams, careers chosen by parents, and first love. Sameer, the school's charmer, falls for the new girl Aishwarya; Tariq is pushed towards an engineering future he does not want; and Nandini, the daughter of a celebrity, longs for her parents' attention. A school staging of Romeo and Juliet brings them together and exposes the gap between what they want and what their families expect. Always Kabhi Kabhi was the directing debut of radio and television personality Roshan Abbas and was produced by Shah Rukh Khan, who appears in the song 'Antenna'. It gave early leading roles to Ali Fazal, who had played Joy Lobo in 3 Idiots, and Giselli Monteiro of Love Aaj Kal.
