Amar Rahe Yeh Pyar (1961)

Amar Rahe Yeh Pyar ('may this love live forever') is a 1961 Hindi drama starring Rajendra Kumar, soon to be known as 'Jubilee Kumar' for his long-running hits, and Nanda, one of the gentlest leading ladies of the period. The story is a sincere social melodrama of its time, in which love and human goodness are set against the divisions and prejudices of society, and the young couple's bond is tested by events beyond their control. Songs play an important part, in the style of the early 1960s. It is a modest film that offers a look at the two stars just before their biggest successes.
