Anbanavan Asaradhavan Adangadhavan (roughly "the loving one, the unshakeable one, the untameable one") was built entirely around Silambarasan, who appears in several looks, among them Madurai Michael, a swaggering local tough, and Ashwin Thatha, an older man with a very different temperament. Shriya Saran and Tamannaah Bhatia play the women in their stories. Director Adhik Ravichandran, who had made the cult comedy Trisha Illana Nayanthara, keeps the tone broad, with plenty of nods to the star's own screen persona and fan following, and Yuvan Shankar Raja supplied the songs. The film was planned in two parts, but only the first was released; it did poorly, and its aftermath led to a much-publicised dispute between the star and producer Michael Rayappan.
