Raj Malhotra, a fighter pilot, is pursued by Jiya, a lively, outspoken young woman who has fallen for him. But Raj carries the memory of Kajal, the gentle girl he loved years earlier, and of how fate came between them. As his past is revealed, Raj must decide whether he can love again. Andaaz is a classic early-2000s love triangle, made memorable by two newcomers who had just won major beauty pageants: Lara Dutta, Miss Universe 2000, and Priyanka Chopra, Miss World 2000. Priyanka won the Filmfare award for Best Female Debut for it. Nadeem-Shravan's songs, including the title track and "Kitna Pyaara Hai", were chart hits, and parts were shot in South Africa.
