Ram arrives in Hyderabad looking like any other young man, falls for a cheerful girl and makes friends, but he is quietly working through a list of targets in the city's underworld. As gang leaders start falling and rival factions blame each other, the question becomes who Ram really is and what connects him to the bosses he is bringing down. Athanokkade ("he alone") was the debut of director Surender Reddy, who went on to make Kick, Race Gurram and Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, and it gave Nandamuri Kalyan Ram, who also produced it, his first big hit. Mani Sharma's music and the film's stylish gangland action were widely noticed.
