Ayya (2005)

In a village in southern Tamil Nadu, the family of a much-loved patriarch is the backbone of the community, and Sarathkumar commands the screen as the head of the house and the defender of its people. Opposite him is a cunning, power-hungry rival played by Prakash Raj, and the feud between the two families escalates from village politics into open war. Director Hari, known for fast, loud rural action dramas, keeps it moving with family sentiment, Vadivelu's comedy and big set-piece fights. Ayya is especially remembered as the Tamil debut of Nayanthara, who went on to become one of the biggest stars of South Indian cinema. This page is for the Tamil film.
