An ageing matriarch's decision about her vast farmhouse sets her greedy sons scheming, and when the lockdown traps a motley group under one roof, including a cook, a migrant worker and his son, and a young woman with plans of her own, the scheming turns into a murder mystery. Everyone has a motive and a secret, and the class divide between the owners and the people who serve them becomes part of the joke. 36 Farmhouse was written and produced by Subhash Ghai, who also composed its music, a rare credit for the showman. Sanjay Mishra and Vijay Raaz carry the comic chaos. It is a light, talky ensemble comedy rather than a tight thriller.
