Faraar (1955)

Faraar ("absconding") is a 1955 Hindi thriller-romance directed by Phani Majumdar, starring Dev Anand and Geeta Bali. Dev Anand plays a fugitive in the colonial era who escapes and goes into hiding, where he finds shelter and falls in love, while those hunting him close in. The pairing of Dev Anand's easy charm and Geeta Bali's vivacity was popular in the early 1950s, and the film belongs to the stylish crime-romance cycle that suited the star so well. A good watch for fans of 1950s Dev Anand.
