Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya (2019)

Athreya runs a private detective agency in Nellore, though his cases rarely go beyond checking on cheating spouses, and his assistant Sneha is about the only one who takes him seriously. Desperate for a real mystery, he starts poking into a string of unidentified bodies found near the railway tracks, and soon finds himself framed, hunted and in far over his head. Swaroop's debut began as a comic detective story and turns into a sharp, twisting thriller. It became a sleeper hit in 2019 and made a star of Naveen Polishetty, who co-wrote it; his fast, self-mocking comic timing is the film's engine.
