Bandham (1985)

Bandham ('bond') is a Tamil family drama starring the legendary Sivaji Ganesan opposite child star Baby Shalini, who was then one of the most popular child actors in South Indian cinema. The story centres on the deep bond between an elderly man and a small girl, and on how her innocence breaks down the walls of pride and bitterness around him and his family. It is a sentimental film carried by the chemistry between its two leads, a veteran at the height of his acting powers and a child prodigy.
