Irfan Ahmed is a bright chemical engineer in Chennai who lives quietly with his mother and struggles to find a job worthy of his qualifications. A string of coincidences and circumstantial evidence leads the National Investigation Agency to believe he is connected to a wanted terrorist mastermind, and Irfan finds himself detained, interrogated and branded by the media. A senior officer played by director Gautham Vasudev Menon leads the hunt, and the film asks how easily an innocent man can be made to fit a profile. FIR was Manu Anand's debut as director and was produced by Vishnu Vishal himself. It was praised for its turns, its pace and Vishnu Vishal's performance.
