Madhumitha works at a video-game company in Chennai, where she falls for her colleague Ashwin. Under hypnosis she begins to recall earlier lives in which the two of them loved each other and were always separated by violence: in Burma in the 1960s, in 1980s Chennai, and more. As she pieces together the past, the people around them start to look disturbingly familiar. K. V. Anand's film mixes reincarnation romance with a modern thriller, and gives Dhanush several different looks across the eras. It was Amyra Dastur's first Tamil film, veteran star Karthik plays an unexpected role, and Harris Jayaraj's songs, notably "Danga Maari Oodhari", were big hits.
