Badava Rascal (2021)

Shankar is a jobless but cheerful young man from a lower-middle-class Bengaluru family, the pride of his doting parents and the leader of his gang of friends. When he falls for a young woman from a far wealthier family, the class gap between them brings trouble he never anticipated. Badava Rascal (roughly "poor rascal") is a warm, comic romantic drama that gave Dhananjay, until then best known for intense and villainous roles, a lighter leading part. He also produced it, and Rangayana Raghu and Tara are especially enjoyable as Shankar's parents.
