Bambai Raat Ki Baahon Mein ("Bombay in the arms of the night") is a 1968 social drama written and directed by Khwaja Ahmad Abbas, the writer of many Raj Kapoor classics and a lifelong campaigner for socially conscious cinema. It follows a young man drawn into the city's glittering nightlife, where clubs, black money and corrupt businessmen meet, as he tries to expose a powerful tycoon. The film is remembered as the screen debut of Persis Khambatta, the former Miss India who later became known internationally for Star Trek: The Motion Picture.
