Bandgi (1972)

Bandgi ("devotion") is a 1972 Hindi drama starring Vinod Mehra, then one of the rising romantic leads of the period, opposite Sandhya Roy, a major star of Bengali cinema who appeared in a handful of Hindi films. Padma Khanna, known for her dances and supporting roles in the era, also features. As its title suggests, the story centres on love and loyalty tested by circumstance, family and misfortune, with the songs and melodrama typical of early-1970s Hindi films. Reliable details of its making are scarce, so this page keeps to the basics.
