Bangara's father was a man the whole village loved and trusted, a 'man of gold'. When Bangara sees the farmers around him driven into debt and despair by middlemen, moneylenders and indifferent officials, he decides to carry his father's legacy forward and stand up for them, even if it means confronting powerful interests. The film is a rural action drama with a strong message about the plight of farmers. Its title deliberately recalls Bangaarada Manushya (1972), one of the most celebrated films of Shiva Rajkumar's father, Dr. Rajkumar, which also centred on village life and the land.
