Shukla is a chauffeur who never complains, Yadav a building watchman with a family back in the village, and Aman a young waiter with dreams of something better. They share a cramped room and the daily humiliations of working for the rich. When a crisis strikes, they cook up a kidnapping that they believe nobody will notice, and the plan sets off consequences none of them foresaw. Barah Aana ("twelve annas", three quarters of a rupee) is a dark comedy about class and invisibility in Mumbai, praised for its three lead performances, especially Naseeruddin Shah's quiet, almost silent Shukla and Vijay Raaz's anxious Yadav.
