Bitti Mishra of Bareilly smokes, breakdances and scares away every prospective groom, to her mother's despair. Just as she is about to run away, she reads a novel whose heroine seems exactly like her, and sets out to find its author, Pritam Vidrohi. The real writer is Chirag Dubey, a printing-press owner who used the name of a timid friend, and who has fallen for Bitti himself; so he produces the meek Pritam, and then tries to turn him into the worst possible suitor, with very unexpected results. Adapted from Nicolas Barreau's French novel The Ingredients of Love, the film is a warm small-town comedy. Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari won the Filmfare award for Best Director, and Rajkummar Rao, whose transformation from mouse to swaggerer steals the film, won Best Supporting Actor.
