In the late 1980s, in a village where caste decides who may walk which street and even where the dead may be carried, Kittu is a gifted student from an oppressed community who hopes to become a collector. A local activist, Chinnarasu, fights the system through politics and protest, and Kittu stands beside him. When Kittu is accused of a crime and disappears into police custody, the village erupts and the struggle becomes a fight to find out what happened to him. Suseenthiran, director of Vennila Kabaddi Kuzhu and Naan Mahaan Alla, treats caste injustice with anger and sincerity. D. Imman's music and Parthiban's performance were widely praised.
