Beginning tells two stories at once. On one half of the screen a gentle young man with an intellectual disability, goes about his day at home with his mother; on the other, a young woman is abducted and locked up by a stranger. The two halves run in parallel, cutting between calm routine and mounting danger, until the young woman manages to make a phone call that ties her fate to his. Vinoth Kishan and Gouri G. Kishan play the leads. Directed by newcomer Jagan Vijaya and presented by filmmaker N. Lingusamy, it was promoted as the first Asian feature film told entirely on a split screen, and the format makes it an unusual watch.
