A rare solar storm cuts off mobile networks across Chennai, and suddenly a city that runs on phones is thrown into disorder. In the middle of it are a group of strangers: a young man who has invented something that might change everything, a struggling engineer with problems of his own, couples whose plans depend on a call that cannot go through, and others whose stories cross and tangle over the course of the day. Ramprakash Rayappa's debut is a fast hyperlink film that mixes comedy, romance and thriller, with a strong sense of how dependent modern life has become on a signal. Its Tamil title plays on the act of "pressing 1 for Tamil" on a phone menu.
