Aarakshan (2011)

Prabhakar Anand is the principled head of a private college in Bhopal. When the Supreme Court upholds reservations for backward castes in education, the decision divides his campus and even the young people closest to him: his brilliant Dalit protégé Deepak, his daughter Poorbi, and her privileged friend Sushant. Anand's stand costs him his job and his home, and the story turns into his fight against Mithilesh Singh, a teacher who has built a lucrative coaching empire. Prakash Jha's film became controversial before release and was briefly banned in a few states over fears of unrest, though the bans were soon lifted. Amitabh Bachchan anchors the film, with Manoj Bajpayee strong as the antagonist.
