Nagarahavu (2016)

Nagarahavu ("The Cobra") is a fantasy drama about a divine serpent, an ancient treasure and a family bound up with an old curse, in which a sorcerer's greed brings the forces of the snake world into conflict with humans. Ramya plays the young woman at the centre of the story and Diganth the hero. The film is best known for a first in Indian cinema: the late Kannada superstar Vishnuvardhan, who died in 2009, appears in a key role recreated with computer graphics, and the film was promoted as his 201st. It was directed by Kodi Ramakrishna, a veteran of special-effects fantasies such as Ammoru and Arundhati.
