Vibhuti Narayan Mishra is an unemployed, smooth-talking husband married to Anita, a modern, English-speaking wife. Next door lives Manmohan Tiwari, a gruff underwear-shop owner married to the sweet, simple and traditional Angoori. Each man is secretly smitten with the other's wife, and every episode spins a new plan to win a little attention, which collapses into misunderstandings, disguises and trouble with the colony's oddball residents, including the bribe-hungry police officer Happu Singh. The sitcom became one of the longest-running and most popular Hindi comedy shows, running into thousands of episodes. Its catchphrases, especially Angoori's "Sahi pakde hain", entered everyday speech. Shubhangi Atre took over the role of Angoori in 2016 from Shilpa Shinde.
