Bhagavanth Kesari (2023)

Bhagavanth Kesari, a burly man from Telangana with a past in prison, has taken charge of Vijji, the daughter of a man who was dear to him. He is determined that she will become an army officer and toughens her up with his own blunt methods, while Vijji, gentle and anxious, wants a quieter life. Their tussle turns serious when Rahul Sanghvi, a powerful and cruel businessman, comes after them, and Bhagavanth's own history begins to surface. The film gave Balakrishna an older, more restrained role than his usual mass parts, and pairs him with Sreeleela in a father-daughter style bond. It was Arjun Rampal's Telugu debut, and it won the National Film Award for Best Telugu Film.
