Bhakt Prahlad (1980)

The legend of Prahlad is one of the best-loved stories of Hindu devotion. The demon king Hiranyakashipu, who believes himself invincible, demands to be worshipped as god, but his own young son Prahlad will pray only to Lord Vishnu. The furious father tries again and again to break or destroy the boy, and each time Prahlad's faith protects him, until Vishnu appears as Narasimha, the man-lion. The story is also the origin of the burning of Holika on the eve of Holi. This Hindi devotional version stars Sanjana and Naleen Dave; details of its makers are not widely documented.
