Bharat Ram has grown up in England, away from his politician father, and has just finished his studies at Oxford when the father, Chief Minister Raghava, dies suddenly. To stop the party from splitting, a senior leader played by Prakash Raj installs Bharat as Chief Minister, expecting a puppet. Instead Bharat takes the oath literally: he imposes heavy fines for traffic violations, pushes reform in schools and local governance, and starts asking awkward questions about his father's death, making powerful enemies in his own party. Bharat Ane Nenu ("I, Bharat") was Koratala Siva's second film with Mahesh Babu after Srimanthudu and one of the biggest Telugu hits of 2018. It marked Kiara Advani's Telugu debut, and the 'Vachaadayyo Saami' and title songs by Devi Sri Prasad were hugely popular.
