Bharata Charitra, Chaturmas 2023 — Day 4

One of seven days of a Hindi exposition of the Bharata Charitra at Govardhan Maṭha, Purī, given during the 2023 Chaturmas. WHICH Bharata is not stated on the item, and more than one bears the name: the brother of Rāma, who refuses the throne of Ayodhyā and rules as regent while living as an ascetic; Bharata the son of Duṣyanta and Śakuntalā, from whom Bhāratavarṣa takes its name; and the Jaḍa Bharata of the fifth canto of the Bhāgavata. A seven-day katha on the Bharata Charitra in a devotional setting most often takes the brother of Rāma, held up as the model of selfless devotion — but the item does not say so, and it is not asserted here. Day 4 of 7.
