Bhargava Ramudu (1987)

Bhargava Ramudu is a 1987 Telugu action film directed by A. Kodandarami Reddy, starring Nandamuri Balakrishna with Vijayashanti and Mandakini, the Hindi actress who had become famous two years earlier with Ram Teri Ganga Maili. The title evokes Parashurama, the warrior avatar, and the film follows a righteous hero who confronts injustice and the men behind it, in the mould of the action-romance films that made the Balakrishna and Vijayashanti pairing popular in the late 1980s. It offers the staples of the period's Telugu masala cinema: confrontations, songs, romance and family emotion.
