In North Chennai, boxing is not just a sport but a matter of family and neighbourhood honour, fought out between two old rival clans. Bhooloham grows up carrying the shame of his father's defeat and fights to restore his family's name. His victories attract the attention of a powerful businessman who sees money in the sport and arranges a televised bout against a towering foreign boxer, turning Bhooloham into a pawn in a commercial game. Kalyanakrishnan's film is a sports drama with a pointed critique of how big money exploits local talent. It was delayed for some time before its release and features Australian wrestler Nathan Jones as the foreign champion.
