Bicchugathi Chapter 1: Dalavayi Dange is a Kannada historical action film set in Chitradurga, the hill-fort kingdom of the Nayaka rulers. It tells the story of Bharamanna Nayaka, a young ruler who must assert himself against the powerful commander Muddanna, whose rebellion threatens to tear the kingdom apart, while court intrigue, loyalties and love complicate his path. The film is based on the novel Dalavayi Dange by B. L. Venu, a writer known for his stories of Chitradurga's history, and the title is the name of a traditional dagger. Rajavardhan, son of veteran actor Dingri Nagaraj, plays the lead, with Hariprriya as the heroine and Prabhakar as the formidable rebel. Shot around the stone walls and landscapes of the region, it was planned as the first part of a larger saga.
