Abhay and Aaliya have been together since they were kids, and everyone assumes they will marry. Aaliya, though, is restless and ambitious, and when she decides to go abroad to study and pursue acting, she tells Abhay they need a break. He follows her anyway, takes a job nearby and tries to be the supportive friend while still hoping to win her back, and the two have to work out whether the relationship can survive her need for freedom. Break Ke Baad is a modern, city romance that puts the woman's independence at the centre rather than treating it as a problem to be solved. It was the debut feature of Danish Aslam and produced by Kunal Kohli, with Vishal-Shekhar's breezy songs, including "Adhoore".
