As children, Bujji and Chitti were inseparable, until a fight split their families and Bujji ran away, promising to return for her. Years later he is a cocky, carefree rowdy in Chennai, still holding on to that promise, and when he comes back he finds Chitti has grown up waiting for him. Their reunion is complicated by Sivanna, a feared man just out of prison, whose world collides with Bujji's in a series of clashes and comic face-offs. Bujjigadu is a Puri Jagannadh entertainer with his trademark punchy dialogue and attitude-heavy hero, and it shows Prabhas in a lighter, more playful mode than his usual roles. Mohan Babu brings his booming screen presence to Sivanna, and the film pairs Prabhas with Trisha again after Varsham.
