Ravindra has a degree and an education in the city, but no job and no confidence after failing interview after interview. When drought hits his village in Rayalaseema, the shepherd families take their flocks deep into the Nallamala forest to find grazing land, and he goes along with his father. Over months in the wild they face tigers, smugglers, forest officials and the harshness of the terrain, and Ravindra, who once feared everything, learns courage from the shepherds and from Obulamma, a spirited young woman of the group. The film is adapted from the novel Konda Polam by Sannapureddy Venkatarami Reddy and was shot extensively in forest locations. M. M. Keeravani composed the music. It was Vaishnav Tej's second film after Uppena.
