Kolaiyuthir Kaalam (2019)

Shruthi, who cannot hear or speak, grew up in an orphanage until a wealthy benefactor leaves her a sprawling estate in the English countryside. She travels there to take possession, but the inheritance has made her a target, and on her first nights in the isolated house a killer begins stalking her through its rooms and corridors, while she relies on sight and instinct to survive. The film is a compact home-invasion thriller shot in the United Kingdom, built around Nayanthara's wordless performance. Directed by Chakri Toleti, it was made in parallel with a Hindi version, Khamoshi (2019), starring Tamannaah, and its release was long delayed.
