Disco Raja (2020)

A research team working on an experimental regeneration technique finds a body preserved in the ice of Ladakh and brings it back to life. The revived man, Vasu, remembers nothing at first, and the scientists treat him as a medical miracle. But fragments of memory begin to surface, and they point to another life decades earlier: Disco Raja, a swaggering, flamboyant don who once ruled a corner of the Madras underworld, with enemies who have not forgotten him. As Vasu pieces together who he was, the past comes looking for him. Disco Raja mixes science fiction with a retro gangster tale, and Ravi Teja plays both the bewildered present-day man and the stylish 1980s rowdy. Bobby Simha plays the rival Sethu, and S. Thaman's score leans into disco-era sounds for the flashback portions.
