Hai Meri Jaan (1991)

Hai Meri Jaan is a 1991 Hindi romantic drama directed by actor-filmmaker Roopesh Kumar, starring Kumar Gaurav and Ayesha Jhulka, with Sunil Dutt in a senior role. Kumar Gaurav, the son of Rajendra Kumar, was also Sunil Dutt's son-in-law, which gives their scenes together an added curiosity. The film follows a love story pulled apart by family pride, misunderstandings and villainy, set out with the songs, sentiment and confrontations typical of the period. It came at the start of Ayesha Jhulka's career, the year she broke through as a leading lady, and it suits fans of early-90s romances.
