Samson (1964)

This 1960s costume adventure retells the old legend of Samson, the man of superhuman strength who fought the oppressors of his people until a woman learned the secret of his power. Wrestler-turned-actor Dara Singh, then a big draw in action films, plays the hero, with Mumtaz and Feroz Khan in support. Directed by Nanabhai Bhatt, father of Mahesh Bhatt, it is a showcase of fights, feats of strength and palace intrigue in the stunt-film tradition of the time.
