Aatank (1996)

In a small coastal village, a fisherman named Jesu and his community live under the thumb of a ruthless smuggler who controls the waters. Their troubles grow when a huge man-eating shark begins to attack, killing villagers and leaving the community in terror. Jesu and his friends must face both the creature in the sea and the villain on land. Inspired by Jaws, Aatank was started in the early 1980s but stayed in production for many years and was released only in 1996, which is why it reunites Dharmendra and Hema Malini with Vinod Mehra and Amjad Khan, both of whom had died before the film came out. Laxmikant–Pyarelal composed the music.
