Two powerful rural families have been at each other's throats for years, and the bitterness has passed from one generation to the next. When a young man from one side and a young woman from the other fall for each other, their romance becomes a test of whether old hatred can be talked down instead of fought out. Rather than elope, the hero tries to win over the elders and bring the two households back together, which means facing stubborn patriarchs and relatives who profit from the feud. Kuch Tum Kaho Kuch Hum Kahein is a family romance in the classic Hindi mould, with songs by Anu Malik, and gave Fardeen Khan one of his more traditional, sentimental roles. It is a remake of a Telugu family drama, and was Richa Pallod's first leading role in Hindi cinema.
