In the early 2000s Jack Abramoff is one of the most powerful lobbyists in Washington, a fast-talking operator who funnels money from Native American tribes running casinos into political favours and his own lavish projects. With his partner Michael Scanlon he dreams ever bigger, but a deal involving a fleet of floating casinos and some very dangerous associates starts to unravel everything. Casino Jack is a darkly comic political drama based on the real scandal that led to convictions of Abramoff and several associates. Kevin Spacey's turn as the charming, self-deluding Abramoff earned him a Golden Globe nomination. It was the last feature by director George Hickenlooper, who died shortly before its release.
