Bunty has grown up with parents who seem to hate each other, and it has made him afraid of marriage himself. His eccentric scientist grandfather has built a time machine, and Bunty uses it to go back to 1975, the year his parents married, to fix the problem at the source. There he finds his future father Kishen as a timid, bespectacled nerd and his future mother Mala as a tomboyish, hot-headed beauty, and sets about turning them into a romantic couple. Action Replayy is a Hindi comedy directed by Vipul Amrutlal Shah, adapted from a Gujarati play by Aatish Kapadia that drew on Back to the Future. Its retro 1970s styling, bell-bottoms and all, and Pritam's songs, including Zor Ka Jhatka, are part of its charm, with Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai against type.
