Vel (2007)

A mother loses one of her newborn twins, and the boys grow up without knowing about each other. Vasudevan becomes a smooth private detective in Chennai, while Vel is raised in a village by a poor woman and grows into a fearless, rough-and-ready protector of his people. When Vasudevan learns the truth and goes looking for his brother, he finds a family threatened by a powerful local enemy, and the two very different men join forces. Vel was a big Diwali 2007 success for Suriya, who plays both brothers, and it was one of several rural action hits by Hari. Vadivelu's comedy and Yuvan Shankar Raja's songs added to its popularity.
