Kavin and Nayana are bright, energetic children who cannot sit still, and their exasperated parents send them from one school to another, eventually to strict boarding schools. When the families move into the same apartment complex, the two become friends and allies. Dr. Tamizh Nadan, a child psychiatrist played by Suriya, and his wife Venba, a teacher, have their own children and a very different outlook, and they help the parents understand hyperactivity, attention problems and the pressure of an exam-obsessed system. Pasanga 2 is a follow-up in spirit to Pandiraj's National Award-winning Pasanga (2009) rather than a sequel. It was produced by Suriya's own company and made for families.
